![]() ![]() The project draws broadly on ethnographic methodologies, illuminated, and informed by Queer theory and Crip theory, to explore the emergence of a greater sense of social inclusion in an Australian regional community. Using the Moreton Bay region (and drawing on some Moreton Bay Regional Council initiatives), this program of research explores if, and how, a sense of communities might emerge for marginalised people via these events, and if this feeling of greater inclusion can be spurred by, specifically for this program of research, through engagement with clothing, costume and performance via arts based community projects. The project is partly spurred by the vision of a team at a regional council to go beyond usual operational practice and seek to provide more inclusive and diverse events, that better involve marginalised members of the community.
